As we always share the good and the bad in our personal lives, together with the good and the bad in our naughty life, I thought it won't be off topic to post some great news that we got today.
C.Ex.L.- Contractor Experts Link, the company that I built from the ground up after coming to Canada with $50 bucks in my pocket in 1998, is the 2012 WINNER of Consumer Choice Awards for Bathroom Refinishing and Remodeling in the city of Calgary. We specialize in all aspects of renovations and construction, but we won the award with our bathroom reno's.
The funny thing is, just a few months ago I wanted to start doing something else........... LOL |

Well, it is a bitter sweet achievement, it took a lot of hard work and perseverance, and to me it was better than anything that ever happened to me, to have my customers choose my work as the best...... It probably is the best award I could ever get, as everything else is not dictated directly by the clients..I guess I won't retire from construction and move to something else anytime soon.......

It's a bitter sweet accomplishment. Too much of my life and talent got wasted due to politics.
In Sept 2003 while we had a 10 mth old premature baby and Lulu was 4 mth pregnant with our second child, I was deported according to a new Immigration law that was deemed inhumane and changed less than a year later. So I lost my business, my home, vehicles and everything I owed at the time, and, was sent to Romania, my birth place, where I had nothing or anyone left. My family is of Sicilian Immigrants to Romania in the mid 20's that got trapped in Romania during communism, and once the borders opened they all left for Italy and Spain.
The Gov't of Canada and Immigration Canada did not seek to repair their wrong doings and it took us another 4 years for me to return to my family in 2008. By that time, I was already established in Europe, and almost didn't wanted to return, but my wife longed for her family and friends. I never saw or met my oldest son until he was 3-1/2 years old, and when I saw again the 10 mth old daughter I left behind she was almost 5. I hope the Prime Minister will attend the Award Gala as I'd love to have his full attention for a few moments.........
