I think its great to have many servicemen and women coming home....BUT, is it convenient that Obama is running for president soon? What is being left there to help ensure this war wasn't fought for nothing, will the Iranians move back in on Iraq (some say they already started).
Sorry, didn't want to burst a bubble...but you said whatcha think... and I think it's being done at the wrong time and for the wrong reason.

no bubbles bursted here babe , i here ya jus didnt wanna throw that out there, i jus trying to think positive for them, i wish theyd all get to come home, but truth is.... there gonna keep some just in case they said, kind of sucks.......and i personally wont anwser the comment about president, cuz i can't, ...i know it may seem bad, but I, me, yeh don't vote. i do pray thou, i hope this a maybe jus one good day, like i can see them all over there, screaming and daceing, oh and haveing a beer too!!!!! It's to distract people from the fact that our government is passing laws which allow them to declare a citizen to be a terrorist and then hold them forever without charge. And to free up troops for the next staged war. Here. |

It's my understanding first of all that "our" government did not pass this law.... Our government conviently failed to negotiate and secure an agreement from the Iraqi government to prevent this from being the case. Every other place on the globe that we have a garrison, we have been granted the authority to govern our own forces. "OUR" government, to ensure the fullfilment of a campaign promise, and to cater to a voting base in hopes of being re-elected, simply and conviently failed to put forth the effort to secure this agreement so that again it's "not my fault" if Iran moves in, or we lost 4500 American lives and had over 30,000 injured and maimed. "Not My Fault" (we all know who uses this line so readily)
I think it is a discrace to expend all of the lives, have all the terrible injures, and the expence of a dreaded war and then end it this way for all the wrong reasons. I do detest war and the way we enterd this one, however, once commited and engaged, you must allways protect your rear.
That does not mean never leaving, it means leaving for the right reasons and at the right time.
The right reason and time should not be so that "I" can be a hero, (our men and women in uniform are the real heros) nor to hopefully secure a voting base just in time for an election.

"Our" government is passing that law right now. To detain American citizens on American soil indefinately without trial or charges.
And when the hell was it America's job to keep Iran out of Iraq? I thought American troops went there to catch Saddam before he could use any of his nonexistant weapons of mass destruction. Oh yeah, that's right, the entire Iraq war was based on lies but that's OK because we got to kick a bunch of ass. American soldiers who died in Iraq did so because their leaders lied and sent them there for no good reason at all. May the American people avenge them next election. |

I think people better wake up and start reading history . The mid east is aways will be a hot spot the trouble both there and taking it else where . We need to decide if we what the fighting here or over there because it not going to stop . If that makes you mad than you should learn the history there. |

Many people that I know have gone to Iraq and have returned home safely!! Have we (as a country) made a difference there, not sure... Iraq & Iran will always have problems!!! I would like to see the Government concentrate on 'Real Issues', like fixing the economy!! You hear it on the news, 'Economy is getting better'....Really WHERE? Shouldn't our government do something to HELP our country?? I mean common people!! We have so many homeless people due to the economy!! I'm not blaming the President... I'm just saying, CONGRESS & the SENATE need to agree or I'm sending ALOT of emails to them!!!! Gezz, they can't even agree on the budget, but we are supposed to sent our service men & women to go fight & defend 'another' country!! For what??? I'm not sure...just my thoughts....xoxo Shirley |

I usually dont get involved in politics and political discussion but i see nothing has changed and it never will. Us conservatives state the facts and look at things from both sides and as usual the liberals ignore all the facts that aren't relative to "their" way of thinking.. it's very easy to distinguish between the two..........one thinks with all of the brain and all of the facts and the other doesnt.........have you ever stopped and thought about why the democrats use a "jackass" as their party symbol?..........it's self explanitory........Sorry nothing personal against anyone but as long as you libs express your biased opinions us conersatives will express theirs as well...

I am not a liberal or a democrat. The whole two party system is a sham. The whole us-n-them bullshit that keeps the wheels of war turning and the economy starved is a big dog and pony show that is totally out of control. People believe what they are told by the media (ie: muslims hate freedom, it's ok to use the Constitution for toilet paper, government can help...) and fail to realize that we are all being used as debt cattle and cannon fodder. All the "enemies" of the US would not be enemies had the US not fucked with them first. You want anything to get better? Stop listening to main stream media, elect Ron Paul, scale back the government to the Constitutional limits, bring all the troops home and stop trying to control the world.
and THAT is all I have to say on the matter. |

I THINK ITS GREAT TOO AND HE SAID BEFOR HE GOT ELECTED THAT WAS ONE OF HIS GOALS, YES WE STILL HAVE ALOT OF PROBLEMS BUT IF CONGRESS AND THE SENATE GOT THERE HEAD OUT OF THERE ASSES AND WORKED TOGETHER MAYBE WED GET SOMETHING DONE. HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

There are times to live and let live, and there are times to go in with guns a blazin'. I just hope that the right people are there when it's time to make those decisions.
I think one politician said "its harder to stop a war than it is to start one". We should be happy for those who are coming home, remember with great respect, those who have made sacrifice, pray for those in harm's way, and always work to keep peace.

I agree with cute lil gurl. The Iranians will, NO DOUBT, move back in on Iraq. There is going to be chaos. While it would certainly be great to have all of service men & women back home cute lil gurl hit the nail on the head. It's being done at the wrong time for the wrong reasons.
