How do you all feel about this? By "likeing" the page your friends and family are bound to catch on...anyone ok with that? |

I would guess that is why there are no comments on the post. We certainly won't be adding them to ours friends list or liking the page. |

That's exactly what we were thinking Babs! It's definitely NOT a good idea! I don't think many of us want our friends and family knowing our personal lives! Facebook and Twitter already interfere enough in our lives without tying it back to ST! |

This is a private place for us of like minds to gather, make new friends, discuss opinions openly, free to speak our minds and have fun with each other without fear of outside interference or persecution in a world that does not accept our lifestyle. Why the hell would we want it on Facebook or Twitter or any other social networking site? The more I think about it, the more it pisses me off!

would it be better if it was made into a private group, would that be better? I know I cannot friend in the public social networks due to my work in the private sector.

You can't count on anything being private on Facebook or Twitter. That's the whole point. Amd even if something is private now, how long before a policy change or software bug dumps your dirty laundry in public.

I guess it depends on how close net of a family you have... And I agree that some family members should not know Or friends... Theys a restricted feature you can use on Facebook, I'm not sure about Twitter don't use it... Swinging Jay has been a friend of mine on Facebook FOR A long times lol I had a family member ask me, Who is swinging J? I told him & he started in on me... And then I started in on his ass lol I told him the only reason you go to church is so's you can check out the other mans lady in her red dress & high heals & ya never heard a single word the preacher man had to say lmao & then I told him, I maid it through 52 & 3/4 years of life doing it my way,lol But now if you want to start paying my bills...Keeping up with all the maintenance on our vehicles, fix the roof should it start leaking lol Pay for a resting place that you think I deserve lmao Ya know it gos on & on! lol |

Some of you know me and where I live. A 50+ mile long valley. In the last 24 hours, I was at a M&G and had someone tell me a friend saw me there with another couple. The bartender called me by name. I've been there maybe twice in the last year. Also got a call, someone saw me on FB. They didn't say where, but I trust that person.
I'm no longer sure this is a good idea. |

Like it's not bad enough that i have met people my husband works with at the club, met people who know my dad..met a couple that is good friends with my cousin...last thing I need is to advertise on facebook!

I don't understand the reason behind it except possibly advertising for new users to join the site. There is nothing I can do on facebook I can't do here. |

There are a 100 reasons why the majority of us here do not want this site linked to other social networking sites. It's just another invasion of our privacy. We don't want our kids, our families, our co-workers, vanilla friends and the list goes on exposed to our very personal lives. People here could literally lose their jobs, be dis-owned by their families and many other scenarios. We are here because of the privacy and freedom we enjoy to be who we are on the site without outside interference. Swingtowns needs to find another way to advertise and draw new people without exposing the ones they have or they might not have them very long! |
