New man in Birmingham, GB
I’m from Birmingham, a city that has shaped who I am in more ways than I often realise. Growing up here meant being surrounded by history, diversity, and a strong sense of resilience. Birmingham is known as the heart of the Industrial Revolution, and that hardworking spirit still runs through the city today. It’s a place where people get on with things, adapt, and keep moving forward, and that attitude has definitely rubbed off on me. What I love most about Birmingham is its diversity. Everywhere you go, you hear different accents, languages, and stories. From busy high streets to quiet neighbourhoods, the city feels like a mix of cultures that somehow fit together. Being raised in that environment taught me to be open-minded and comfortable around people from all backgrounds. It’s normal here to celebrate differences rather than question them. Birmingham also has a creative side that often gets overlooked. The music, food, and art scenes are constantly evolving, and there’s always something new to discover. Whether it’s the canals winding through the city, the buzz of the Bullring, or the pride people have in their local areas, Birmingham has a character that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived here. Being from Birmingham is something I’m proud of. It’s not a perfect city, but it’s real, grounded, and full of heart—and those qualities have helped shape the person I am today.
